SUP Fitness & Paddle Efficiency Workshop

SUP Fitness on Land and Water

This is a two day workshop based out of a private Outdoor Gym at the Goodsheds in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan

Designed and delivered by Anturio Adventure in conjunction with Brawd Health and Emily King Coaching, this comprehensive workshop is suitable for SUP paddlers who want to improve their fitness both on land and on the water.

This will be a comprehensive and integrated experience looking at your own individual Sup Fitness and Paddle efficiency both on and off the water.

At our bespoke private outdoor training environment we explore and personalise our 8 pillars of SUP Fitness for the candidate

On the Water we focus on paddle efficiency, drills and sup specific water fitness relating this to our 8 pillar framework and your own fitness and performance on the water.

By the end of the workshop you will be able to build yourself an individual Sup fitness framework to work within for improving your future paddling.

You will need to provide your own SUP Equipment and suitable clothing on the water and for practical training at the Gym.

Who’s it for?

Suitable for recreational SUP’ers who want to be SUP ready when they get the chance to paddle or last longer and be more comfortable when paddling.
Also suitable for those who enjoy the occasional SUP event and may want to challenge themselves.

We look at SUP Fitness across your whole lifestyle using our 8 pillar approach

  • Pillar 1 – Physical Conditioning.

    Strength and Power.

  • Pillar 2 – Aerobic & Cardiovascular Conditioning.

    Endurance, speed and recovery.

  • Pillar 3 – Flexibility, warm up and stretching.

    Range of Motion and mobility.

  • Pillar 4 – Skills.

    SUP Skills and Drills.

  • Pillar 5 – Rest and Recovery.

    Sleep, self care and self-myofascial release.

  • Pillar 6 – Injury Management and Prevention.

    Common injuries, how to manage and prevent.

  • Pillar 7 – Body Composition and Nutrition.

    Energy balance and better lifestyle choices.

  • Pillar 8 – Psychology.

    Motivation, fear and what holds you back.

Land – The Trên Station, a private outdoor Gym run by Brawd Health at the Goodsheds, Barry.

Water – Barry Island (one of 3 bays) or Cardiff Bay (depending on conditions)
